I don’t know about you, but I always enjoy this time of year, with summer around the corner. Even if it means it’s a quieter time of the year for the business, it’s a great chance to catch up on some jobs. And this year, with the worst of lockdown behind us, there’s even more to look forward to.
What do you need to do to get your business ready for summer? Here are some of the things our clients are asking for.
Business branding spring-clean
Post-lockdown, there was a lot to do to get everything back in place, especially for businesses with awkward openings such as pubs and restaurants. From sort-of-open to fully-open in May was a difficult transition to manage.
But spring is the time for spring cleaning and that’s more than making sure the business is dust-free! It’s also a great time to refresh or rebrand your business so you can appeal to new customers while retaining older ones.
One thing that people often forget in a rebrand is the business card. It needs to be updated with your new colours and logo if these have changed. But also remember to check all the contact information – are those email addresses still the best ones? Has anyone changed their mobile number? As the world opens up you can bet there will be a glut of in-person events. You want to be ready!
Spring clean your marketing materials
As printers, we still see a high demand for physical marketing materials that work in the real world and complement your online activities. When it comes to spring cleaning your marketing materials, make sure you add details of new ways to get in touch or hold meetings.
Let’s face it, lots of businesses would have struggled without Zoom during this pandemic! Without the ability to have staff meetings or customer calls over the internet, things would have been almost impossible. But people have also got used to that option.
Make sure your marketing materials tell people they can book a Zoom call or reach out via Facebook Messenger. Some people will remain cautious about face to face meetings for a long time and adding those contact options could be make or break.
Don’t forget the marketing materials that are displayed inside the store as well. Signs about COVID-secure measures will still be around for a while so make sure they’re easy to spot, accurate and if you rebrand, consistent with your other materials.
Make sure your website is accurate
Even if you aren’t having a rebrand, you’ll need to spring clean your website. That means removing references to being closed or restricted due to lockdown. Make sure you still list any COVID-secure measures you are required to follow. And be sure that your opening hours and conditions are clear and easy to find.
Spring cleaning with a difference
This year, the business spring clean to get ready for summer is a little different to other years. Clearing away the cobwebs of lockdown will be a part of it but there’s still the usual buzz of getting ready for the busier times of the year, whether that’s summer or the Christmas season a little further away.
